Are You Wondering What to Expect When Visiting our Church?

We know that visiting a new church can be scary, especially when you don't know what to expect. I'm mean, come on, the stories and experiences about churches can frazzle your hairs and give you nightmares. I'm mean, "Do they eat babies? Play with rattle snakes, wear "ascension robes," roll on the floor, look funny, or drink KoolAid and follow charismatic leaders into the jungle?" Mercy! Heaven's no!

Okay, let's get to the real issues. We are normal (at least somewhat? j/k), all "friendly" guests are welcome, and yes you are always free to enter or leave at any time you wish - and we'll even wave, smile, give you free food at fellowship meals, first place in line, and let you know you're welcome back!

Your Questions Answered Here:

What should I wear? How do I get there? Where do I park? Where do I go? What are the people like? This page is dedicated to helping you answer a few of those questions.

If you have any more questions, feel free to contact us and let us know how we can help you feel more at home.

When are your services?

We meet on Saturdays (different, huh?).

  • Sabbath School begins at 9:30 AM.
  • Worship Service begins at 10:45 AM (usually ends by 12noon or 12:15pm)

What should I wear?

At the Woodward Seventh-day Adventist Church you will find people wearing all types of dress, from casual to formal and everything in between. Don't be anxious. Just wear what makes you feel most comfortable.

How do I get there?

However you like. :) We are located at 1321 Enterprise Ave, Woodward, OK, 73801. (See Map)

Where do I park?

There is plenty of parking at the front of the church. We even have a big dirt lot which is large enough to fit an RV. You will see our big sign out front. Find a spot and join us inside!

Where do I go?

We have two church buildings.

  1. Our Fellowship Hall, Offices, and Classrooms (closest to the road/entry - lower roofed building): We hold children's Sabbath School classes here, and our Spanish fellowship meets in this building (in the larger, dining room area).
  2. Our Main Church Sanctuary (furthest from entry - taller building):  The main building to the left of the fellowship hall is our sanctuary. Main services are held here. Preferably, use the front doors at the end of this building, which face our dirt parking lot. Once you enter, the Sanctuary is strait ahead. Bathrooms are to the left and to the right.

What are the people like?

This is the most important question people have because, after all, the church is the people. At the Woodward Seventh-day Adventist Church you will find lots of kids, families, and older folks as well. We enjoy life together. Many of us are professionals who are very involved in our careers (whether farmers, teachers, etc.). We get together outside of regular church events for socials, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship.

Folks are kind, friendly, and welcoming to all.

What is the service like?

First of all, it's okay if you're running late. No one is going to look at you funny when you walk in the door. So, no need to worry. You don't need an escort, body guard, or seater. You are welcome to come in and sit down wherever you like.

DURING SERVICE:

The first thing we do is share announcements for the coming week.

Next, we have a time dedicated for prayer, a mission spotlight, and a story for all the children to enjoy! The service then moves into the song service portion, where we sing classic hymns from a hymnal (hymnal provided in the pews, along with extra Bibles for those needing them), followed by an offering, a scripture reading, a prayer, and finally the sermon. At the close of the sermon, we usually pray and sing a hymn before leaving.

AFTER SERVICE:

After the service, people tend to mingle throughout the church to enjoy each other's company and pray with one another. After the worship service, when the Pastor is with us, we enjoy a special potluck fellowship luncheon, prepared especially for our guests.

Is there something for my kids?

Children's Sabbath School begins at 9:30 AM on Saturdays. There are fun, creative, Bible-based classes for all ages. There is also a Children's Story during the Worship Services. All in all, we think your child/children will have a blast learning about Jesus (and meeting new friends) at the Woodward Seventh-day Adventist Church!

So, please come and bring the whole family! Y'all are welcome!
